Anything for Free O.J. and Cookies!
Global Resources recently hosted a Blood Drive for the American Red Cross. While donors did receive juice and Keebler cookies after giving blood, we really were there to give, rather than receive, as one donation can save up to three lives.
Per the Red Cross, “There are four types of transfusable products that can be derived from blood: red cells, platelets, plasma and cryoprecipitate. Typically, two or three of these are produced from a pint of donated whole blood – hence each donation can help save up to three lives.” There is a huge need for donations, every two …
Fighting Cancer All Night Long: Relay For Life
Global Resources employees were happy to collect donations for the ‘Meme Team’ at the recent Relay For Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The overnight walking event was held at a local high school with teams of people taking turns walking around the track. Jon and his wife, Ellen, attended the event as chaperones while their daughter Amy and her team mates participated in the walk.
The Relay For Life is a real community and family orientated gathering with camping, food and entertainment. The event celebrates everyone who has been touched by cancer. There is an opening lap for …

Global Resources: Supporting the Walk to End Hunger
Working to end hunger is a family tradition for sisters Jocelyn and Venus. They remember helping their grandmother, when they were very young, to bring shopping carts of food to people in need. Their grandmother was one of the founders of the Keystone Baptist Church’s pantry, organizing the first food drives held there and being an advocate for ending hunger.
Once again, as they do every year, Jocelyn and Venus went from office to office collecting donations to support the Keystone Baptist Church team walking in the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s 28th Annual Hunger Walk. Scheduled for June …

Office Sweet Office
One of the most attractive offices at Global Resources belongs to Donna. Her decorating style stems from the realization that the average person will spend more waking hours at work than any other place, meaning that it was well worth the extra time and attention to give her office all the comfort and serenity of home.
Her office is traditional, yet, feminine. A collection of cut crystal desk accessories is another beautiful focal point for visitors’ eyes. Several lamps provide soft indirect lighting, which is less harsh than the standard overhead light fixtures that she normally turns off (it was …
Duck, Duck, Goose—Rescue!
“I believe I can fly!”
An abandoned gosling was found by a Global Resources employee on the side of a busy road while driving to work. After a quick check to see that its family was not in the area, she picked up the bird and brought it to Jenifer, our resident wildlife rescue expert. Jenifer has rescued numerous abandoned and injured animals due to having grown up in a household where her mother was a certified wildlife rehabilitator.
“Nobody put Baby in a corner.”
The baby goose, after a bit of energetic exploring of Jenifer’s office, was soon settled …

Setting High Expectations At Global Resources’ 2013 Annual Meeting
With the Presidential election over and rising consumer confidence seen in retail, housing, and automotive sales, the stage was set for Global Resources’ 2013 Annual Meeting.
After a breakfast buffet, Global Resources President David Danzig welcomed everyone gathered in the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center and Hotel ballroom with a ‘state of the industry’ address.
Meant to prepare our employees to address the challenges (in the form of the newest Federal regulations, tax and health care requirements) and the growth opportunities for our business clients, the Annual Meeting was an event filled with presentations, hand-outs, and intense break-out sessions.
