If your company has ever hosted a blood drive for the American Red Cross, you’re aware that it’s not an easy sell, such as a bake sale—mmm, warm homemade chocolate chip cookies, or even asking for a cash donation for a charity. It involves blood and needles. It’s a personal sacrifice.

Global Resources recently hosted a Blood Drive for the American Red Cross. While donors did receive juice and Keebler cookies after giving blood, we really were there to give, rather than receive, as one donation can save up to three lives.
Per the Red Cross, “There are four types of transfusable products that can be derived from blood: red cells, platelets, plasma and cryoprecipitate. Typically, two or three of these are produced from a pint of donated whole blood – hence each donation can help save up to three lives.” There is a huge need for donations, every two …
