Enjoying The First Signs Of Green!
It’s been a long winter in the Midwest and here at Global Resources, we eagerly awaited the first signs of green…
Depictions of Shamrocks, buckle adorned top hats and dancing leprechauns are now appearing throughout the office along with a multitude of green shades worn by our coworkers. Kelly green, forest green, mint green, even neon green items of attire have cheered the sight of those long accustomed to the overcast grey of snow, sheet and slush.
Forget ‘spring ahead,’ the true harbinger of Spring is not the time change, but the celebration of St. Pat’s!
Global Resources Reviews: Being Proactive Rather Than Reactive
Situation
The client was the third generation owner of a construction business, founded in 1950, providing custom concrete work to residential and commercial clients.
“I decided to use Global Resources in order to improve profitability, primarily, through improved internal communications and defined accountability for each key position. We also wanted to be better able to reward those employees making the greatest contributions relative to individual performance and budget targets. Although, the business has been profitable, we were continuing to operate by reacting, often unprofessionally, to current challenges.
We also knew that we needed to significantly improve the level of internal …
Birthdays Are A Blast At Global Resources!
Turning a year older is actually a lot of fun at Global Resources! Our corporate culture embraces having the work space decorated to celebrate your special day (although, if you’d rather not be featured in such festivities, your wishes are quietly respected).
Coworkers are continually flexing their creativity to come up with unique decorating themes that are personal and meaningful to the recipients. Favorite colors, fashion (a fondness for zebra print, for example) or pets may be featured. Desks, doors, and hallways are often festooned with streamers, banners and balloons; so that anyone walking by knows that it’s your day …
Sweet Home Chicago!
President Dave Danzig warmly greeted employees as they arrived.
The Global Resources Annual Meeting started Friday evening with a welcome reception. The main purpose was to provide food and refreshment to all our analysts and consultants who had arrived via various flights from all over the country (because no one really enjoys what is served on airplanes).
Shout out to Tonia (above, center) who organized an impressive menu of Chicago classic cuisine to greet our guests.
We enjoyed Chicago-style pan pizza (with the tomato sauce on top of the cheese layer), hot dogs with a selection of toppings (neon green …
Global Resources Reviews: Prepared For Success
Situation
A client in the transportation services industry for 25 years, specializing in truck, cargo van and trailer rental for commercial and residential customers, engaged Global Resources “to assist our leadership in being able to better understand how we might optimize our potential as a relatively small business facing significant growth opportunities.”
Process
Prior to the consultant arriving, an assessment was provided by Global Resources analysts. “The intriguing part for me was the fact that I had the chance to inquire and have a dialogue in order to identify the areas where the greatest benefit of the consultation would be …
Prepping For Our Annual Meeting At Global Resources
Once again, it’s time for our Annual Meeting, when all of the Global Resources’ analysts, consultants and management gather to share best practices tested in the field, review all the recent regulatory and tax changes that affect GR clients, and enjoy networking time among colleagues.
Behind the Scenes at Global Resources…
Temporary work tables were set up. Kimmie (above) and Sarah, then worked on assembling the endless stacks of handouts, worksheets, CD/DVDs, etc. to be distributed to the attendees (literally, boxes and boxes of materials). Additionally, Sophie printed, stuffed, and arranged in alphabetical order the hundreds of nametags.

Global Resources Reviews: To Ensure Profitability Amidst Growth
Situation
As the owner of a successful business selling garage doors and installation, along with other home improvement products, the client sought Global Resources’ assistance with a restructuring project to “establish a climate of change that would allow me to confront issues impacting the profitability and functionality of my company.”
“As a small business owner that had built and managed a business from the ground up with no formal training, I had been challenged in effectively managing the growth that we have experienced over the past year.
Furthermore, my staff and I were not equipped with the knowledge and tools …
Our Food Drive Was A Success!
Kim was happy to report that we amassed seven full bins of food and two bins of paper goods/bags for the Libertyville Food Pantry, our best Food Drive ever! Kim rounded up volunteers to pack the food for delivery; thanks to Peter and Tom for stepping forward to do the heavy lifting. Thanks also to all our coworkers at Global Resources for bringing in their donations to help prevent hunger in our community. As Kim likes to say, “Every can helps!”

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
There are traditions that you look forward to every holiday season. A few of our family favorites would include taking an excursion to Chicago to view the decorated department store windows on Michigan Avenue, donating to the Salvation Army bell ringers (an especially big thrill for young children), and staying after hours to see the lights (and sleeping animals) at Lincoln Park Zoo. Here at the Global Resources, it’s all about Toys For Tots, our Food Drive, and the giant snowflakes that magically dangle above our desks and deck our hallways!
Launching Our Annual Food Drive
Kim checks out the almost full (with four weeks still until Xmas!) Food Drive bins;
the generosity of her coworkers continues to astound her.
We celebrate the holiday season at Global Resources not just with decorations, cards and gifts, but by reaching out to those less fortunate through our Food Drive. Once again, Kim has organized the launch of this annual event, obtaining donation bins, creating flyers and sending out email blasts. It is a personal crusade for Kim to help prevent hunger in our community.
This year, working with the Libertyville Food Pantry, she has …
